Hi guys! I have had my PC for about a year now, the specs are

thermaltake litepower 650 watts
Rog strix b350_F mobo
Ryzen 5 1400 oc'd @3.8ghz
Tforce Delta 8x1 GB 2666mhz
Rx 590
2 tb hdd
120 gb ssd
240mm AIO cooling.

I want to switch out my CPU because i think its not sufficient to game especially CPU intensive stuff XD.,.

I recently got this deal online on where this guy would trade his Gigabyte Z170 Gaming 7 and an intel i7-7700k for my board, ram, and CPU,

Now, that technology is about 4 years old now, i was thinking if trading my stuff for his would actually be worth it considering that its kaby lake and a z170, I just want to know what you guys think about this cause its 2020 and i dont know if this can still last for about at least 3 years in playing 1080p games, and work stuff like video and sound editing.

Or would it just be better for me to sell my components and save up later newer generation products that i know will be safer and better.

Solution
I wouldn't. If I were you I would update my BIOS and then buy a Ryzen 3600. As good as the 7700K is its a step backward since you wont ever get more then 4 core/8 thread with that platform.

Even a used Ryzen 2600 or the 1600AF would be a better upgrade for you.
