Hi, I already bought a vega 64 (250$ with warranty - very good deal), but for now I only have a q9300 to pair it with.

So, I found a deal for a i7 8700 (non k) for around 250 dollars, but should I wait a bit and get the ryzen 5 3600? I will only game on the pc, both have 6c12t, but in my county the 3600 will cost around the same as the intel part 250$, and I will probably go with a B series motherboard for each case.
The thing is I already have 16gb DDR4 Corsair LPX at 2666mhz which will slow gaming performance on ryzen from what I heard, but can I possibly overclock it to 3000 maybe 3200? (If i buy the ryzen cpu)

So:
i7 8700 + B360
R5 3600 + B450
(Same price for both configs)

From the slides that AMD showed it looks like the 3600x is nearly on par with a 9600k so I suppose that the 3600 will be a touch slower.

So if both cost the same, have the same 6c12t which proccesor will be better for gaming? (Considering the fact that i have slow ram 2666 mhz). Which one should I get for my vega 64?

AMD's offerings seem to look quite promising so I suggest waiting until the release date(7/7) and seeing how it handles games and other intensive softwares but if I had to choose it seems AMD's CPUs are getting better and better over time But that's my personal preference. Would suggest you wait a little bit longer to see how this card ranks.

I would definitely get the R5 3600 over the i7-8700.
I personally built my rig last November and I chose a Ryzen 5 2600 (which I OC) over then i7-8700 I was also considering.
And my current rig performs at well as or even better than most i7-8700 based rigs going by the various benchmarks I read.
