I recently found bad sector in my 7200 rpm desktop hard disk so I replace it with my 5400 rpm laptop hard disk. After that Desktop is almost unusable.I take so much time to respond to mouse click, everything is laggy.Even it takes 5-10minutes to open file explorer.I know 7200rpm had better performance than 5400rpm but still with 5400 rpm it should be atleast usable.I dont know what to do now.Is there any setting in bios to adapt to 5400rpm.

I installed Ubuntu 16.04,It is working smoothly.I guess Windows 10 is lagging with 5400rpm hard disk in combination with i3-2nd gen cpu.Now I am going to try this spec with windows 8.1.

Solved this issue by setting SATA controller mode to AHCI in the bios and now Windows 10 is working perfectly,no more freeze issue.
