I'm looking for a solution to a problem that I run into when I'm playing games.
I'm using CS:GO as an example, but have the same problem in all other games as well.
I have fine FPS on the majority of maps in CS:GO. However, my FPS drops (worst case is down to 80- from 700 FPS) when the computer has to render too much (detailed map, smoke grenades, gunfights etc. It's a problem that came out of nowhere. Sometimes my screen will also freeze while playing. I can hear from the audio that I'm still able to run around, shoot etc. the screen is just frozen. Don't know if the two issues are connected.
So far I’ve tried the following:
Setup:
MoBo: Asus B450-F
CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 5800X
GPU: AMD MSI Radeon RX 5700 XT Gaming X
RAM: Trident Z Neo 3600MHz, CL16, 2x8 GB (bought after the problem occurred)
PSU: Corsair RM750 - 1-year-old
I also benched my PC on 3DMarks where I got a fine result of a 9500 ish score.
There are some weird dips in my 3DMARK score which I don't understand.

My power extension cables are rather cheap. Could that be it?
All ideas are welcome!

So far I’ve tried the following:
- Logaddress_add 1 in CS:GO console
- Changing CS:GO settings such as über shaders, advanced 3d audio processing together with general video settings.
- Turning off X-box game bar
- Deactivating fullscreen optimizations for CS:GO (made it much worse)
- Made sure no components are overheating
- Updated drivers
- Tried older AMD drivers to see if that was the issue
- Complete PC format
- Moving CS:GO to another disc
- Made sure both my M.2 and SSD are healthy
- Optimized both drives
- Use the same resolution in windows as in CS:GO.
- Changed the power settings to max performance
- Tried different Mat_queue_mode (-2 to 2) in CS:GO console
- Made sure RAM is set to 3600mhz
- Tested the other RAM slots
- Disable Windows Defender
