So, I was thinking of buying a gaming laptop under 1500 USD, and I don't know which one to pick so I need a third opinion to help me.
I came across a Refurbished Acer Triton 500, with i7 8750H and RTX 2060, 16 GB RAM for 1499$ and also a brand new Acer Helios 300 with i7 9750H with 1660 Ti for 1199$. They both look similar but the Triton looks more like a MacBook, thinner and has thunderbold support.
My question is, is it good to buy Refurbished laptops. I do not live in the United States but I intend to visit for 2-3 weeks in September and I would get it there because prices here in Europe are 30-40% higher. And also I saw that even tho the Triton has the RTX 2060, the Helios 300 with GTX 1660 Ti performs better, because of thermals. I love a good looking laptop and light laptop, because I do light gaming and programming, but is it worth 300$ to buy a Refurbished, 0.2" (0.7" Triton) thinner laptop vs the thicker 0.9" laptop that is brand new?
AND is a 0.9" laptop thin or thick in your opinion, because I do not use laptops that much and I don't know the standards.
I appreciate every help, thanks in advance.

Mostly programming, reading, light use in a caffee, but also gaming when I get home. So battery life is important, at least 4-5 hrs. And the Triton 500 seems to offer all of those, but does it matter that it is Refurbished?
