I have an IBM rack mount server x3550 M2. It has not been ran in a long time. There is a drive in bays 0 and 1, CMOS battery has been changed, and memory reseated. The messages that it continues to sit at is "UEFI Platform Initialization error." Has anyone come across this error or dilemma and...
I cannot figure out why this isn't working, hoping others might have some insight.
I have an 8 GB bootable ISO and I'm trying to get it to boot off of a 190 TB SSD. The SSD currently lives on a workstation, and can be taken in and out the workstation on a hard drive sled.
The ISO is a Red...
Currently I have two Macbooks (Mini & Pro 13" from Late 2013). They are still working, but I been thinking about upgrading at least one of them to something new. One has a failing keyboard and few other problems. My main take away from both is durability for those years. However, I am not too...
Hello Tech geeks and experts,
I had a PC (Config: i7 4790 @3.6ghz, 8GB RAM, Nvidia GTX 960 4GB, 1TB WD Blue HDD and 550W Corsair PSU). I used to dual boot Linux (Fedora) and Windows 10 on it. Everything was going great when one day, my mom, while cleaning the household, mistakenly pulled the...
Here's the rundown:
-I have three laptop computers, two Dells and a Lenovo, all of which I've installed (or tried to install, prepped the BIOS for) Linux Mint on
-the SD card readers work, for low-capacity cards, including SD and Micro-SD card-with-adapters
-I have used several Samsung EVO...
My Lenovo Thinkpad P40 runs Windows 10. I wanted to try out Linux for the first time, so I made a bootable USB drive and attempted to boot from that USB. After using Fn+F12 to access the boot menu, I selected the USB HDD but the screen just flashed black and then went back to the boot menu. I...
Hello,

Both environments are (at the top) running a Windows server doing DHCP and...

So I installed Lubuntu 20.04 on my laptop to replace KXStudio 14.04 cause it was too buggy with LMMS. But after I installed the new OS my 256GB MicroSD Card doesn't seem to be fully detected by the OS. I tried putting a 64GB MicroSD card in my laptop & it worked perfectly.
Also after I put my...

I'm trying to setup a dual-monitor configuration with only one physical monitor. I have (2) GPUs, a GTX 1050 TI and Radeon R9 290, both connected to an Acer 27" XF270H via HDMI. My system sees both displays, but switching to the 2nd GPU on HDMI2 gives me a blank screen. Is...

So usually I am pretty good with computers, but I recently bought an AIO, with a touch display. The idea was to buy it, load Android_x86 on it, and install in my kids room, so he didn't have to commandeer my phone all the time...
Hello everyone. So I used a 32GB flash drive with YUMI to put Mint and Clonezilla on it recently.
When you use YUMI with a flash drive, it creates a partition labeled "MULTIBOOT,."
This is normal and takes up the whole space of the drive.

Hello everyone!
I'm creating a Linux Mint golden system image with my apps and settings already configured
for deployment to multiple computers. I'll be using the Clonezilla software to do this, unless
there is software out there that is more effective and practical for this purpose.
Are there...
Pc was working fine with only Ubuntu. Entered BIOS on Asrock B450 gaming K4 and enabled the ultra fast boot. Now, when I start my pc, I'm faced with a gnu grub command line. Additionally, my keyboard LEDS are working but the keyboard will not do anything. What should I do? (Latest version of...
I want to virtualize a Mac, Windows, and Linux all at the same time with very good performance. I am a developer so the multi-platform compatibility on a single computer is a must. I will be using a Radeon R580 as passthrough to the Mac, GTX 1060 for windows, and hopefully onboard graphics for...
