Hi all,
After a bigger Windows 10 Update (2020H2) my OS stopped recognising my three SSD SATA drives (M.2 boot drive still works fine). Yesterday, prior to the update, all drives still worked just fine. All drives are recognised by the BIOS, but the SATA drives are not recognised by Windows...
I have the Lenovo P50s laptop (type 20FL). My question relates to the WWAN port inside of the laptop. I have read that people have used an 2242 M.2 Sata SSD inside the WWAN port of their laptops. I saw a post on Reddit that mentions this on the P50s, but it sounds like it is not compatible...

I bought a new Crucial MX500 SSD and I replaced my TOSHIBA MQ01ABD100 with it. I then put the HDD in the optic reader slot, in a caddy.
Premise: before this, my DVD reader didn't work.
I installed the OS (Windows 10 64b) on the SSD via USB...
Hello,
I want to add an 8 port sata card to my system but I have a question.
Can I use one of those conversion cables to turn one port into esata connector? (no Power needed)
I am buying a powered unit that needs a single esata connector which is why I ask.
Thanks in advance

I have decommissioned a Western Digital MyCloud EX4 and I need to wipe the 4 drives that lived in the NAS.
I have a Sabrent SATA to USB connector and tried to wipe the drives from Ubuntu, but when viewing the drives with gdisk -l and lsusb, I could see a ton of errors, for some reason.
I...
Hello,
Starting a few days ago, whenever my pc has been unplugged from power for a while and i start it, it then starts for a brief second, and then restarts and i get to the American Megatrends screen where it says:

After setting up Intel(R) Optane...
Hi guys,
I recently upgraded my rig. Along with my MB, CPU and PSU I bought a new SSD. The old one is Samsung's 850 EVO NVME m.2. It works excellent, I don't have any complains.
So here's the problem.. When I got my new MB (ASUS ROG Crosshair VIII Hero) I installed the new SSD (Samsung 980...
Hello,
I've added a new Samsung 860 EVO SSD to my 'HP Pavilion TouchSmart 15-n023cl Notebook', Sometimes the bios downgrade the SATA version. How can I disable or control that?
So, I got a new CPU cooler, which required me to disassemble my entire system (considering it was hard to install it while everything was in the case) and once I assembled everything back I saw one of my hard drives not being detected and my PC wouldn't even turn on (past the MOBO loading...
So I built my first pc around 2 weeks ago, and I love it, it works perfectly fine. The only problem i has was that I hadn't installed a Hard Drive yet, so I ordered one and got it in the mail today. I installed it, plugged everything in, but my pc wouldn't boot. After unplugging the sata cable...
I have an older PSU that came from an HP desktop that my employer was going to throw away. I realize this might be part of my problem right there but, I'd like to make sure just in case. The PSU has 2-strings of 3 daisy-chained SATA power connectors, factory wired, no splitters or anything...
Hello,
I've added a new Samsung 860 EVO SSD to my 'HP Pavilion TouchSmart 15-n023cl Notebook', Sometimes detected as SATA || and sometimes SATA |||, I don't know what's the problem! Is it from the SSD or BIOS and how can I fix it?
When I installed my new wdblack m.2 it just boots straight to bios. When I try to boot manually from my normal boot drive (sandisk) it doesn't work. If I take out the M.2 it just follows the normal boot sequence into windows like normal. What's going on?
Hi looking for some guidance and been trawling previous posts ref. the same topic and found no resolution based on two key factors.
As a brief preface the SSD I am trying to use as a boot was previously the boot drive in the older system, has my files on it & I don't have a spare to backup...
My PC has 5 drives: a system NVMe M.2 SSD, two SATA SSDs, and two SATA HDDs. Once in a while all the SATA drives would suddenly disappear from the explorer. Disk Manager shows them as unallocated with seemingly empty MBR partitions. While the partitions on the disks can be recovered and...

Hello good day. I would like to ask since I did read how the M.2 drives work but not sure on how many. I have this model: https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/B450M-MORTAR-TITANIUM

Hey everyone,
I've gathering parts for a new build to replace my current PC, which has 1xNVMe SSD for Win 10 and 3 other Sata SSDs just for my games. As I am getting a new NVMe SSD I'll be fresh installing Win 10 on, I'd like to know if I can simply connect the 3 other SSDs in the new system...
My SSD (with my OS) wont show up under SATA information in my ASUS BIOS, but it does show up under the Boot Priority and Boot Options sections. My CD drive and HDD show up in both SATA and Boot sections though. So I tried switching around the SATA cables, and the HDD and CD drives still show up...

My 1 year old Crucial BX500 SSD might be dead?
The other night we had a sudden power outage and once I turned on my computer again, it wouldn't boot to windows. I was stuck in the Gigabyte splash screen until it put me into the BIOS Setup after about 2 minutes. I checked to see if I could do a...
So I bought a new power supply and hooked up everything incorrectly as I was using the original cables on the old power supply. This caused many problems. After I rectified this, I was able boot my system to find that I did not have any of my storage devices other than my M.2 drives shown on the...

Hello.
I have just upgraded my rig and everything seems to be working fine. One problem, my M.2 (Team Group MS30 SSP 128gb) Is not being detected in my computer.
Before I continue, I would like to state that I have spent a decent amount of time finding a solution. Checked this forum and other...
My M.2 SSD does show up but can't set it as a Boot option. (Windows 10 is installed there before I upgrade my MB, CPU, PSU - just today)
Did not update the BIOS
I tried:
Changing slots (M.2_1 and M.2_2)
Going into BIOS and set my M.2_1 to SATA and PCIe, neither of them worked.
I know that when...
Hi All!
I currently have one 1tb HDD and one 250gb SSD (SATA) on my ASUS Z97-C Motherboard. I have now bought a 1tb M.2 NVMe SSD and I want to clone my 250gb SATA to the new 1tb M.2 NVMe.
How do I go about this as I have heard that the SATA becomes disabled if the M.2 port is being used. Do I...

I'm looking for a SATA to USB 3.1 Gen 1 (minimum) adapter or enclosure that supports UASP as well. I'll mainly be using this for an external SSD for my Xbox Series X probably so the faster the better. I've been browsing a bunch of enclosures on Amazon but I really don't know which ones to go...
