Hi guys,

I'm building my first PC. After the first time it wouldn't power on, so I've taken it apart and trying again. Whilst trying to connect the case fan to the MOBO I'm having this issue.

As you can see I have a 4 pin fan attachment on my MOBO, however, I have these two cables attached to my fan. One is a small 3 pin,:

and other a 4pin that says power on it.

Which one do I plug in? Do I just plug in the 3 pin slot into the first 3 pins of the 4 pin section on the MOBO, and then does my PCU go into the 4 pin part?

I've checked that all parts of my build are compatible.

Thanks in advance!

You could use either one but NOT BOTH AT SAME TIME. Large one is a Molex connector (same one as for older hard disks), fan connected to it would be running all the time at full speed without control or RPM indication.
Smaller one is 3pin fan connector to connect to MB fan header. By the look of that header on the picture, it should be connected at first 3 pins from bottom. Speed will be visible in BIOS as well as be able to control it but have to set that header for DC/voltage control instead of PWM.

Thanks! And how do I set it for DC voltage control? Can't get the thing turned on at the moment! Long day ahead.
