Hi all :)

I would like to upgrade my graphic card and i have a huge dilemma. I've done some research but I'm still not clear about it and I'll be grateful for any advice or experience from someone who knows more than I do.
Basically, I want to know whether it is currently worth upgrading my graphics card (GTX 1070 OC 8GB) or wait. My point is to buy best GPU up to 500 €.
So, to get started, I’ll summarize the points:

APPROXIMATE PURCHASE DATE: next week or after 10th of December BUDGET RANGE: +- 500€ (EURO) = 550$ USD

USAGE:
- I would primarily use the graphics card for games and high performance in 3D applications, especially I would like to get the ULTRA details in Red Dead Redemption 2 to about 60fps at 1080p resolution, and also withstand as much detail as possible for a few years for new AAA titles, but main goal is for RDR2.

CURRENT GPU AND POWER SUPPLY:
GPU: ASUS DUAL GeForce GTX1070 O8G
PSU: Cooler Master 700W

OTHER SYSTEM SPECS:
MB: MSI B450 GAMING PRO CARBON AC
CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 2700
RAM: G.SKILL Flare X DDR4 3200 MHz CL14 16 GB
SSD: Samsung 860 EVO 500 GB
CASE: Fractal Design Define S Window
OS: Windows 10 (latest build)

PREFERRED WEBSITE(S) FOR PARTS:
- so, since I am from Slovakia, I buy most of the components at Alza.sk or also i can use Amazon.de, but there is more expensive transport service, so I almost every time stick with Alza.

PARTS PREFERENCES:
- I've heard different opinions on many manufacturers, I personally don't care if I have an AMD or nVidia card, besides that I have a 144hz monitor with AMD Freesync, but that's the detail. I also heard that AMD on the new RX 5700 XT do not have well tuned drivers. Regarding specific brands I prefer ASUS or MSI, but I can also get suggestions for another brand if it will be well justified. The point is that the card should be as quiet as possible for the price / performance ratio, but again not to lose too much power at the expense of silence and especially to last as long as possible, so it have to be the best quality for that price.

OVERCLOCKING: Maybe

SLI or CROSSFIRE: No

MONITOR RESOLUTION: 1920x1080

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS:
As I mentioned above:
  • RDR2 on Ultra settings for 60fps in 1080p
  • price to 500€ (+-) = 550$
  • good silent cooler
  • next AAA titles playable on highest for couple of years (if possible, the more = the better)
  • slight more noise does not matter (if it will be a more noise under the load I can survive that - I had AMD)
  • I don´t care about RGB :D
GPUs that I was currently considering:
ASUS Strix ROG GTX1080Ti 11G Gaming (I can get used for 450€) - what about support for the future? (lacks RTX)
ASUS TUF3 GAMING Radeon RX 5700 XT O8G (https://www.alza.sk/asus-tuf3-gaming-radeon-rx-5700-xt-o8g-d5659163.htm) - I have heard quite a bit of negative comments on this TUF card about poor quality
ASUS ROG STRIX GAMING Radeon RX 5700 XT O8G (https://www.alza.sk/asus-rog-strix-gaming-radeon-rx-5700-xt-o8g-d5679692.htm) - driver optimization?
ASUS DUAL GeForce RTX2060S O8G EVO (https://www.alza.sk/asus-dual-geforce-rtx2060s-o8g-evo-d5638495.htm)
MSI GeForce RTX 2060 SUPER GAMING X (https://www.alza.sk/msi-geforce-rtx-2060-super-gaming-x-d5636533.htm)
ASUS ROG STRIX GAMING GeForce RTX2060 O6G (https://www.alza.sk/asus-rog-strix-gaming-geforce-rtx2060-o6g-d5530478.htm)
ASUS ROG STRIX GAMING GeForce RTX 2070 A8G (https://www.alza.sk/asus-rog-strix-gaming-geforce-rtx-2070-a8g-d5480613.htm)
MSI GeForce RTX 2070 GAMING Z 8 G (https://www.alza.sk/msi-geforce-rtx-2070-gaming-z-8-g-d5550867.htm)

Thank you for any advice :)

RTX is far from a necessary evil in gaming. The 2070s are also not great performers when it comes to RTX and high details. The 1080 Ti still outperforms a base 2080 and only gets beat slightly by a 2080 Super.
