[SOLVED] New build suggestions

Hi! Recently I've been thinking about building a new PC. I built the one I'm using right now around february 2015 (with the help of this community ) and while it's still very functional and haven't had any issues with it, I think it's time to get something faster and more up to date.

Now this is my current build:

• CPU: AMD FX 6300
• GPU: Sapphire Radeon R9 270 2GB GDDR5 Dual-X
• Motherboard: ASUS M5A97 R2.0 (Socket 942)
• RAM: G Skill Ripjaws X 8GB (2x4GB) Dual-Channel DDR3 @ 936MHz
• HDD: Western Digital WDC WD10EZEX-60M2NA0 ATA Device 1TB (SATA)
• Power Supply: Seasonic G Series 550 SSR-550RM 550W 80+ Gold
• Case: NZXT Phantom 410 Mid Tower

As you can see, there's a lot of room for improvement in a new build since I guess most (if not all) of these parts are very old by today's standards. I tried to search for CPUs and GPUs and other parts to get an idea of what my new build could have, but I'm not really a tech person so a lot of the information I found is a little confusing. There are just a few things I would like to comment about the new build:

• Monitor: I already have a monitor. It's a Viewsonic VX2370Smh LED and I will keep it as long as it's working.
• Use: I'm basically using it for web browsing, watching movies or series, listening to music and gaming. About gaming, I'm more of a console gamer but I will be using my PC to play games like Starcraft 2, Mass Effect trilogy, Dragon Age trilogy and other games that are PC exclusives or that I want to play with mods. I don't worry too much about fps (I'm not really into multiplayer games) or playing in 4K, so as long as I can play the latest games in 1080p even if it is at medium settings I'll be happy.
• Budget: I don't have a specific budget for this build. I first want to have a few parts suggestions to make sure I don't go overkill where it isn't needed (like buying a GeForce RTX 2080 Ti or something like that).
• OC and cooling: I won't be doing any overclocking and if possible consider parts that aren't known for heating up too much. Where I live max temps can get to 33° C (around 91.4°F).
• And last thing, I want this build to have an SSD of at least 500 gb.

Your current PSU is good. You can reuse that and the NZXT case. Hdd can be reused as mass storage.

Should be more than enough for single player games at 1080p with lower settings. You usually will be able to turn settings up to high or max.

If you need to cut cost, drop the SSD to the 512gb 660p, and drop CPU to the Ryzen 5 2600.

Given the agre of the 6300, I wouldn't reuse the psu. The 6300 and R9 270 are at least 5 years old now, and psu capacitors age. the rest of NightHawk's build is fine, though you might consider the extra $40 for an 8 GB RX 580. a reliable 500-550w psu as well
