Question SO-DIMM RAM MAX SPEED / Motherboard Compatible Memory

Hello,

im trying to upgrade my Notebook and one thing i want to do is replace or add some RAM .

Im have a MSI MS-16J4 Motherboard with single channel ddr4 RAM 8 GB (Speed 2132).

I want to replace it with 2x8gb DDDR4 RAM (Speed 2666).

HWinfo is showing me that my max. speed is 1300? And it currently runs at 1040 Mhz, so i'm a bit confused .

Can i upgrade to a faster RAM ?

what you see in hwinfo x2 is the speed

So if i understand it correctly i just multiply those 1300 max ram speed (what u can see on my last ss) so im getting 2x1300=2600. That's fine but im still not getting it because i want to buy ram with 2666 speed, will it be ok? or should i buy 2400 speed?
