I have a system that I was gifted from a neighbor that has been giving me some trouble. The original system was; Asus m5a99x R.2, a fx 8350, 12gb of ram, and a gt 610. In this configuration the system booted fine (unless one of the tpu/epu switches was in the wrong spot) I could get into the bios and everything. however, when I slotted in my gtx 1070 the system refused to boot. It would cycle through all of the lights and then stop with the red vga led locked on. I have tried updating bios, clearing cmos, etc but nothing I have seen or tried worked. Any help would be appreciated.

Hello,
I have an Asus m5a99x motherboard and a fx 8350. The original system i took these parts from worked just fine. However I was trying to build a gaming system so I put in my gtx 1070 turned on the power and nothing. The motherboard would cycle through the different debug's and eventually just stop with the red vga led stuck on. I tried to update my bios but it was already the latest revision. Then I tried to clear cmos, still nothing. I have read many posts and nobody had a working answer. I heard somewhere that it could be a graphics driver? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.
My system specs are:
fx 8350
asus m5a99x
zotac gtx 1070 mini
12gb ddr3
evga 500 watt psu
Its not the driver as that loads after post. Can you try another GPU? Or can you try your GPU in another PC?

I have switched the gpu from my main system to this one and it works great i have even tried the gpu in the other system and it works fine. Could it be that the zotac bios just doesn't like the hardware?
