Hi everyone,

thanks in advance for taking the time to help me out with this issue!

I'm sure ill get a lot of comments saying that my hardware its old and outdated... blah blah blah
but please try to understand that its not about the hardware, but a fulfillment of my childhood.. haha

THIS IS NOT MY MAIN COMPUTER!

well here i go

I've got an ancient Gateway lx6810 which I'm trying to upgrade to a newer GPU
it came with a wimpy Nvidia gt120 card... I've always wanted to see how it would have performed back in the day with a much better graphics card

I came across a GTX780 from evga that i would like to use

after Installing the new GPU, i get a blank screen
no bios, or any image for that matter

everything seems to be working (fans spinning , a little beep from the motherboard as ussual )

both GPUS, cables and motherboards are in fully working condition
i tried all the components on different systems

i understand this card is way newer than the pc I'm trying to upgrade, but i thought PCI was backwards compatible..?

PSU doesn't seem to be an issue, i upgraded it to an 800 watt back in the day

if any of you has any info that could be useful to me
please feel free to contact me!

any help its appreciated!

thank you
