Hello all,

This is my first time building a gaming PC and I just really want to make sure there's no conflict with any of the components I have selected . So I will just list the components below along with amazon links and then below my list I will enumerate a few questions/concerns I have. There's no need to answer all questions but if there's a question you can readily provide the answer to then I would greatly appreciate the assistance!

Case: Cooler Master Masterbox MB511 ATX Mid-Tower - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07CYBQWYQ/ref=ox_sc_saved_title_1?smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&th=1
Power Supply: Thermaltake Smart 500W 80t - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B014W3EM2W/ref=ox_sc_act_title_8?smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&psc=1
Motherboard: MSI B450M Gaming Plus - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07F7WQDZJ/ref=ox_sc_act_title_7?smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&psc=1
CPU: AMD R5 2600 - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07B41WS48/ref=ox_sc_act_title_5?smid=A2Y5U0XPH5G1GE&psc=1
GPU: MSI GTX 1660 Ventus XS 6G OC - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07PBLDV3D/ref=ox_sc_act_title_4?smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&psc=1
RAM: 16GB Corsair Vengeance LPX - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0134EW7G8/ref=ox_sc_act_title_3?smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&psc=1
SSD: WD Blue 500GB SSD - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B073SBZ8YH/ref=ox_sc_act_title_2?smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&psc=1

1. Are these listed components compatible?

2. The cases I've been looking at seem to become unavailable within minutes of adding to cart so anticipating another cancellation can I just use any ATX case with the components listed?

3. for the CPU, would an upgrade to the AMD R5 3600 provide a noticeable improvement or should I just stick with the 2600?

4. The Power Supply is a bit cheaper than others I've seen, will this be sufficient?
4a. It's listed as 80+ white, what's the difference between white, bronze and gold?

5. How do you anticipate the setup would handle the following games:
5a. Overwatch
5b. Guild Wars 2
5c. CoD Modern Warfare
5d. Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice
5e. Gears 5
5f. DOOM Eternal

6. What caliber of games do you anticipate would be unplayable at even Medium settings, 30FPS with this setup?

7. Are there any straight upgrades (for around the same price) for any of the components I've listed?

8. Will I need to buy thermal paste?

9. In your opinion will I need to install more fans?

Solution
  1. Everything is compatible
  2. Yes you can....
  3. 3600 is better than 2600... if you have the money go for 3600
  4. Thermaltake are my "favourite" garbage! Don't ever buy anything Thermaltake....
4a. Different certificate (better certificate = better components = higher efficiency = longer life = better power delivery = longer life for all you components inside the case!)

5.Played only doom Eternal (GTX 1660 i somewhat better or close to my RX 580)... around 80-100 fps 2560x1080 All settings on Auto

6.Depends on the resolution....... on medium there is no way something to be bellow 60 fps on 1080p

7.I think it's really good build and well rounded.... maybe a better GPU 2060 and CPU 3700 (3700x). But i guess you're on a budget...

8.The stock cooler should have.

9.Nah... only complication and noise...especially if you don't know what are you doin... one 12cm front, one 12 on back, and that's all... 1660 is really power efficient no heat there.... if you want you can only buy a decent CPU cooler if you have so money to spare...lower noise...better CPU temps.

Thank you for your comprehensive and well thought out reply, you've pacified a lot of my anxiety about making these purchases. Wishing you good health and stable FPS for many months!
